There’s no such thing as a silly question… but hopefully we already have the answer to your question!
How many people will attend the retreat?
We have the capacity for max. 12 practitioners and 5 crew members. The minimum number of participants is 9 (two month before the start date).
Do I need to know the teacher or retreat host to join the yoga retreat?
No! There is no need to know someone individually beforehand. We actually invited different teachers to spice it up. The variety is a great way to experience your yoga practice with new teachers and expand your horizons!
Can I request a private room?
Yes. But we do need to charge a little more for that.
Can I share a room with someone else?
We’d be happy to arrange this. We’ll try to find the right company for you in advance.
I’d like to come with someone else who won’t be practicing yoga, is that ok?
Sure, you can come with someone who won’t be practicing yoga with you and we can even give you a discount, please contact us for details.
How and when shall I arrive?
The best way to get to the retreat is via O. R. Tambo Airport in Johannesburg. Make sure you arrive before noon on Sunday 3 March 2019. We organize a transfer from the airport to the retreat. The journey takes about 3 hours in the direction of Kruger National Park.
At what time is the departure?
The retreat ends on Saturday 9 March 2019, but you are welcome to extend your South African experience at Saragossa Lodge or a trip to nearby Kruger National Park. If you are planning to extend your trip, do not hesitate to contact us for the transfer. Otherwise, we will arrange a transfer from the retreat to O. R. Tambo Airport in Johannesburg. You will arrive there around 5pm, so please make sure your flight is after 7:00pm. If you have a different preference, please let us know in advance.
Can you accommodate special dietary restrictions?
We can easily accommodate a vegan or gluten-free diet. We can also omit certain nuts and legumes from our dishes but cannot guarantee a “nut-free or gluten-free zone” or that there has not been any cross contamination.
Do I need vaccinations for my trip?
Please check the following link to learn what vaccines are required and advised for your trip. Visit your doctor (ideally, 4-6 weeks) before your trip to get vaccines or medicines you may need. We want you to stay healthy and safe.
What medications and personal care products should I bring?
Bring any medications that you take daily and anything else you may need to make traveling more comfortable. This is not the time to go off of any medications. You may find it helpful to have some Advil, Benadryl, Bug Spray, Sunblock, Band-Aids, Neo-Sporin, Rescue Remedy, Lavender/Tea Tree Oil and Arnica on hand. Organic tampons or any specialty products you may use at home are not readily available here, so bring everything and anything you will need during your stay.
Can I come a day early or stay an extra night after my retreat?
Sure, you are welcome to arrive earlier and can stay longer. Please let us know your plans and we are happy to accomodate you!
Can I bring my dog?
There are also several wild animals who call the game reserve their home; some look cute from afar but have sharp claws. So for everyone’s stress level and safety, it is best to leave your animals at home.
Do I need to bring my own yoga mat?
No. We have plenty of mats here for you to use.
Do I need to bring my own towel?
No need to bring a towel. We will provide towels for you to use at the pool.
Is breakfast, lunch and dinner included?
Definitely. Saragossa Game Reserve has a fantastic restaurants with a farm-to-table philosophy.
Are drinks included?
Fresh juices, tea and water are included. At breakfast, lunch and dinner, there might be special drinks available in the menu and you are welcome to order those and other drinks at the bar or restaurant.
How do I book the retreat?

Do I need a visa to travel to South Africa?
If you are a holder of a national passport of the following countries, you are not required to have a visa for an intended stay of 90 days or less and when in transit. The general terms and conditions of yoganect UG (limited liability) are valid for contracts concluded from 01.10.2018 (all paragraph details refer to §§ 651 a ff. BGB in the version that enters into force on 01.07.2018.
A right of withdrawal according to §§ 312 ff. BGB exists for travel contracts only if these contracts have been concluded outside of business premises (e.g. at the customer’s home), even in this case only if the corresponding oral negotiations are not conducted on a previous order by the customer as a consumer. Otherwise, the statutory cancellation and termination regulations apply, cf. clause 4.4, clause 6 and clause 7 of these conditions. In individual cases we decide on the participation in dispute settlement proceedings before a consumer arbitration board, we are not legally obliged to do so. Irrespective of this, the link to the EU Commission’s platform for online dispute resolution must be stated in accordance with the statutory provisions:
yoganect offers workshops, health courses and retreats to participants and carries them out with the participants.
2.1. An exact description and listing of the service offer is announced by yoganect on the website (www.saragossa-yoga-retreat.com) and the media used by yoganect (social media channels).
2.2. The scope of the services depends on the description of the performance of the workshops or the retreats.
2.3. yoganect is entitled to render the services personally or through selected persons and substitute persons as vicarious agents. If a lesson cannot be implemented by a specific person as previously indicated, for example for health reasons, then yoganect can appoint a vicarious agent to perform the service or offer reasonable time differences (within the agreed period of the event).
3. Conclusion of Contract
3.1. Registration for the events is possible in writing, by e-mail or online. With the registration, the participant makes the offer binding upon conclusion of a contract. The application is also made by the applicant for all participants included in the application, for whose contractual obligation the applicant is liable as for his own obligations, if he has accepted this obligation by express and separate declaration. In a group application (for example, company yoga), the applicant concludes a participation agreement for a firm group.
3.2. The contract is always concluded with the acceptance by yoganect about which the participant or the business customer is informed in writing or by e-mail directly. If participation or registration is not possible, for example because the maximum number of participants in an event has already been reached, the applicant will receive a rejection letter and no contract will be concluded.
3.3. yoganect reserves the right to cancel an event up to 29 days before the deadline if the minimum number of participants is not reached, as well, if it is not possible to complete the course due to illness. In both cases, participants will receive back their participation fee, if any.
4. Data protection
5. Payment of the ticket price / deposit
Upon receipt of the confirmation of registration, the one down payment (less than 50% of the total price) must be paid in full. The payment can be made by bank transfer or other arrangements, e.g. via PayPal and should immediately be transferred to the account of yoganect. The remaining ticket price is due no later than 60 days before the start of the event, unless otherwise stipulated in the contract.
6. Unilateral contract termination by yoganect / cancellation reservation with minimum number of participants
6.1. If yoganect is prevented from fulfilling the contract due to unavoidable, extraordinary circumstances, then yoganect can declare its resignation immediately after knowledge of the reason for cancellation before the beginning of the event. Such circumstances exist if they are not under the control of the party appealing hereupon and could not have avoided their consequences even if all reasonable precautions had been taken (see § 651h (3) sentence 2 BGB).
6.2. If a minimum number of participants specified in the invitation to tender or in the other content of the travel contract is not reached (mimimum of 75% of the available spots, two month before the start date), yoganect may withdraw from the travel contract no later than the 29th day prior to departure.
6.3. In the aforementioned cases, yoganect loses its claim to the agreed ticket price and immediately reimburses any amounts already paid.
7. Resignation of the customer / substitute participant / rebooking
7.1. A right to withdraw free of charge exists with a substantial change of an essential component of the performance of the event or in the case of § 651 h Abs. 3 BGB.
7.2. Otherwise, the resignation of the customer (cancellation) before the start of the event is possible at any time. However, yoganect then has the statutory right to adequate compensation under § 651 h (1) and (2) BGB. Unless otherwise stipulated in an individual contract, the following compensation flat rates determined in accordance with the provisions of § 651 h Sentence 1 BGB shall be deemed agreed:
7.3. cancellation up to 60 days before the start of the event 50% of the event price,
– from the 59th to the 30th day before the beginning of the event, 75% of the event price,
– from the 29th day until the 7th day before the start of the event 10% of the event price,
– From the 6th day before the start of the event 100% of the event price.
7.4. In the case of non-attendance or partial participation in the booked course, no reimbursement of course fees is possible.
7.5. The statutory right of withdrawal is not affected by this, it is independent of the existence or non-existence of this additional right of withdrawal.
7.6. You can name a substitute participant at any time before the start of the event. There are no costs for this transfer.
8. Obligations and rights of the participant in case of an inadequate event
8.1. If the event is not performed in accordance with the contract, the customer should immediately notify the defect (because of otherwise threatened loss of entitlement, see section 7.3 sentence 2) and may demand redress. yoganect may refuse to do so if it is impossible or requires disproportionate effort, considering the extent of the defect and the value of the event in question.
8.2. If yoganect does not provide the necessary remedies within a reasonable period of time determined by the participant, the latter may remedy the situation himself and demand compensation for necessary expenses. The deadline is unnecessary if yoganect refuse remedy or immediate remedy is necessary.
8.3. For the duration of a non-contractual event performance, the customer can assert a claim for reduction of the ticket price (reduction), in addition, there may be claims for damages. All mentioned claims shall cease, as far as the customer culpably does not immediately notify the defect and thereby be thwarted.
8.4. For the right of termination and for further details of reduction and compensation see §§ 651 k – 651 of BGB.
8.5. Request for remedy and notification of defects concerning events organized by yoganect are to be directed as far as possible and reasonable to the yoganect directly (contact details at the end of the conditions).
9. yoganects Limitation of liability
9.1. The contractual liability towards the participant for damages, which are not physical damages, is limited to the ticket price, as far as a damage of the participant was not culpably brought about by yoganect or his service provider.
9.2. The liability of yoganect towards the participant for damages due to unauthorized action is limited to the triple ticket price of the participant concerned, insofar as it does not concern personal injury or is based on intent or gross negligence.
10. Passport, visa and health regulations
10.1. The information about such provisions by yoganect at the time of booking refers to the circumstances known at the time the information was provided. Unless otherwise specified, we assume that the customer has the citizenship of the country that corresponds to the billing address given. In case of deviating or personal circumstances (e.g.: dual citizenship, stateless) we ask for information.
10.2. It is expressly stated that there is always the possibility of a subsequent amendment of these provisions. yoganect will use its best endeavors to inform the participant of any changes as soon as possible. However, the participant is encouraged to follow even the news media to be able to prepare for any changes at an early stage.
10.3. Participants should inform themselves in good time about infection and vaccine protection as well as other prophylactic measures; If necessary, medical advice should be sought on thrombosis and other health risks. General information is provided by health authorities, travel-medical doctors, travel-medical information services or the Federal Center for Health Education.
In particular, yoganect recommends the conclusion of travel cancellation insurance and insurance to cover the costs of repatriation in the event of an accident or illness. Such are for example available from HanseMerkur Reiseversicherung AG, Siegfrieds-Wedells-Platz 1, 20354 Hamburg.
In the course of yoga retreat, photos or video may be taken by participants or photographers. These images may be used in any yoganect and retreat materials, website, Facebook, etc., unless participants specifically request to the photographer or in writing to yoganect, to not use specific material their image is depicted in. Otherwise, permission is granted to yoganect to perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable license to use such images for publicity and promotional purposes.
13. Statute of limitations
The claims of the participant described in § 651 i sec. 3 BGB become time-barred after two years. The statute of limitations begins with the day on which the event should end according to the contract.
14. Choice of law, Place of fulfillment, Jurisdiction
13.1. German law applies. For consumers, this choice of law applies only insofar as this does not remove the protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the law of the state of the consumer’s habitual residence (favorable principle).
13.2. Place of performance for all services from our existing business relationships and jurisdiction is our headquarters, as far as you are not a consumer, but a merchant, a legal entity under public law or public special assets. The same applies if you do not have a general place of jurisdiction in Germany or the EU or your domicile or habitual residence is not known at the time the complaint is filed. The right to appeal to the court at another statutory place of jurisdiction remains unaffected.
13.3. The provisions of the UN Sales Convention explicitly do not apply

Payment and Cancellation
Our event is not a money maker. In fact, we’re donating the surplus of our retreat to a charity. But we also have expenses to take into account, such as room reservations and the expenses of the crew.
We will need to charge a deposit of up to 50 percent of the total trip. That amount will be invoiced to you as you book the retreat. The total amount must be paid by December 31, 2018 at the latest.
If you are not able to travel with us, please let us know as soon as possible. We will then try to obtain the highest possible refund for you. Either we or you will have to find a replacement for you on the retreat, so the more time we have, the more likely a higher refund is. If we find someone to fill your spot for the same total price, you can even get the whole ticket price refunded.
Regardless of the search and even if we don’t find somebody, we have a normal refund policy. Based on the day of your cancellation we refund:
- up to 60 days before the start of the event: 50% of your total price,
- from the 59th to the 30th day before the beginning of the event: 25% of your total price,
- from the 29th day until the start of the event: 10% of the event price.
